Travel back to the Renaissance for an hour of musical comedy gold in Something Rotten! JR. Adapted from the Broadway hit that Time Out New York hailed as “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years,” Something Rotten! JR. celebrates one undeniable truth: “nothing’s as amazing as a musical!”

In the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

Something Rotten! JR. features large song and dance numbers, and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each with their own moment to shine.

This is a fun and educational summer camp giving kids the opportunity to sing, dance, and perform! Each day includes singing, dancing, rehearsals, and theatre games led by professional choreographers and musical directors. The 3 weeks culminate in stage performances at Rivertown Theaters using the set and props used by the mainstage musical.

Work with choreographers, musical directors and a director.

Our summer production staff is comprised of theater professionals.

What makes our musical theatre camp experience unique? Each and every participant is featured and receives individual attention during their 3 weeks with us. We divide each show into 2 casts, opening up more lead/supporting roles opportunities and featured time on stage for all performers.

During the rehearsal process, our students work closely with our team of professionals benefiting from one-on-one training. Students work on every aspect of the production, gaining on-stage performance skills as well as backstage knowledge. We empower our students to work as a team and assist each other during the production, whether it be with set changes, props, costume, make-up, etc.
Parents and students continue to rave about the production value and professional experience they gain attending our camps. Our focus is on developing the young performers’ skills and love for theater, not just shuffling around a large group of kids on stage.
