Encore Studio presents:
“Dancing the Decades”

Running time: 1 hour each

  • There are two separate Dance/Musical Theatre concerts on Sat May 11 at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center on Airline Hwy. (2:30pm and 5:00pm)
  • Most classes will only perform in one show, but some advanced classes will be in both.  Class listing at the bottom of this page.
  • Rehearsal is at a DIFFERENT venue on Wed May 8 at Rivertown Theaters at 325 Minor St. in Kenner
  • A separate Tumbling showcase and rehearsal will take place at Rivertown Theaters on Wed May 15th.
  • A separate Piano / Voice recital will take place at Rivertown Theaters on Sat May 18th.

MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL

  • WHERE: Rivertown Theaters – 325 Minor St. Kenner
    • Note: This is a different venue than the performance.
  • DATE: Wednesday, May 8th
  • TIME: We stagger the call times to minimize the length of time any family must wait around. We may run behind if we have technical issues, so your patience is appreciated.
  • CALL TIMES: Call times will be emailed to you
  • Students will wear their performance attire to the dress rehearsal.
  • Once a student has rehearsed all of their numbers on stage, they are dismissed from rehearsal.

ATTIRE & HAIRSTYLE

  • Attire and Hairstyles for your classes will be emailed to you
  • All Ballet & Tap and Dance & Rhythm classes will wear their approved leotards and tights.
  • See the front desk for help with attire

CONCERT DAY

  • WHERE: Jefferson Performing Arts Center – 6400 Airline Dr., Metairie
  • Lobby will open one hour before performance time, and seating opens 30 minutes before.
  • Drop off students at the backstage door 30 minutes before the performance.
    • Backstage door: Walk all the way through the lobby and turn right.
  • Students will not be allowed backstage earlier than 30 minutes before the performance.
  • Students should already be dressed in the attire for their first number.
    • Song order will be emailed asap so you know what attire to wear to the theater.
  • Write your name on all shoes, clothing and belongings. We have a large amount of lost and found each year.
  • All performers stay backstage during the entire performance with instructors, hall monitors, and security.

PARKING

  • There is plenty of parking in the lot between the theater and Zephyr stadium. Parking is free. There may be an event in the stadium that day. Just show the attendant your ticket to park for free.

NO FOOD OR EDIBLE GIFTS

  • JPAC only allows one bottled water per student backstage.
  • The concession stand will be closed during the show.
  • NO OTHER OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. This is a rule of the Jefferson Performing Arts Center.  Unfortunately, to enforce this rule, THEY WILL SEARCH YOUR BAGS AT THE DOOR FOR ANY FOOD ITEMS and will make you discard them or return them to your car. This includes edible gifts for your child and even baby food. We learned this the hard way our first year in this venue. If you are affected negatively by this rule, please know it is out of Encore’s control, and we encourage you to direct complaints to the management of the JPAC and to Jefferson Parish.

DISMISSAL FROM PERFORMANCES

  • All students will remain backstage in their dressing rooms for the entire performance. For the safety of all the children, parents may not go backstage during the performance or during dismissal. Encore instructors, additional staff, and security will be backstage monitoring all children.
  • Students will be picked up by one parent in the following way:
    • When the show is over, we will bring all children backstage.  ONE parent from each family should line up at the backstage door where you dropped them off. Please only send one parent, as it gets quite crowded and will avoid confusion if another parent already picked up. Pickup usually only takes 20 minutes.

VIDEOS

  • A video recording of all performances will be available for purchase. Order forms will be emailed.
    The videographer is independent of Encore Studio, so you will deal with him directly.

CONCERT TICKETS

We do everything we can to provide you the most fair, streamlined ticket and seating experience. With reserved seating, you won’t wait in a long line at the theater, rush to your seats, or deal with saved seats. Every student gets 2 free tickets, and our Premium seat system guarantees every parent a great seat.

  • ALL TICKET ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE 9am MON APRIL 22nd
    We cannot guarantee you ANY seats if we do not receive your order before the deadline.
  • Ticket orders will be filled in a random order, starting with the best possible seats.  The order in which you submit your ticket order is not a factor, as long as we receive it before the deadline.
  • You can designate up to two (2) of your tickets as ‘Premium’ seats.  Premium seats are on the floor in the front half of the theater.  This allows every family the opportunity for 2 people to sit up close, while the remainder of your tickets will be toward the back of the house or in the balcony. If you would rather not separate your party, select zero (0) premium tickets, and your tickets will be grouped together, and seated immediately behind or to the side of the premium seat section.
  • Performing students and lap children do not need a ticket.
  • There are a limited number of wheelchair accessible / movable seats with companion seats. Please let us know if you require one.
  • All tickets are $20 (which includes a $3 tax imposed by Jefferson Parish).
  • Two (2) of your tickets are FREE for each performing child. If you have an older student performing the same number in both shows, your 2 free tickets will apply to one show only.  For example, if you have 2 children performing, you will not be charged for 4 of your tickets.  If you have 1 child performing the same number in both shows, you will not be charged for 2 of your tickets.
  • Ticket orders will be filled immediately after the deadline.  Your E-tickets will be emailed to you.
  • The balance will be charged to your account we have on file when we process your order. If your account on file is not valid, your order may not be processed. Please call or visit the studio to submit payment as soon as possible.
  • NO REFUNDS – Because your order will effectively push other people further back, we cannot offer refunds or resell your ticket.

REHEARSAL

Rehearsal will take place immediately before the showcase at 4:45pm.  Parents are not allowed in the theater during rehearsal.

TICKETS
